Overview

A clinical assessment is completed with each resident prior to admission. At The Cedars we use the most modern screening tools to determine that the proper level of care is achieved, while identifying other life issues and co-occurring disorders which will need to be addressed in the treatment process. Once the initial assessment is completed an individualized treatment plan is prepared for the resident, which includes goals and objectives they and the therapist agree upon. Your assistance is beneficial in the development of their treatment plan.

Getting Help!

If you recognize yourself by answering yes to any of the questions in the Family Assessment Questionnaire, call our Admissions Department for a free confidential assessment.  When you call, you will speak with a Counselor who will guide you through the process. Once the assessment is completed, the Counselor will determine the most appropriate level of care for you, either at our center or elsewhere.  It is our responsibility that your recovery is given the best care to meet your needs and if we can not do it at The Cedars, we will refer you to a program that can.

If the recommendation is to come to the Cedars, the Counselor will help make immediate arrangements for you to come in. The Cedars is centered within the state, making for easy travel time.  Basically we are no more than a four hour drive from even the furthest point in Michigan.  Often times the addict feels comfort in their loved one driving them and often times, the loved ones wants to see where they will be and the actual care provided. If transportation is a problem, we can for a nominal fee, drive to pick them up and bring them back to the center ourselves.

Family & Friend Questionaire

FOR THE FAMILY MEMBER OR A LOVED ONE, DO YOU SEE THE FOLLOWING?

Many times during treatment, residents begin to uncover trauma or unresolved issues which surface in a safe, therapeutic and caring atmosphere. We make it safe for them to disclose such issues. The initial assessment and treatment plan are reviewed daily in Case Conference in order to monitor the residents progress and make necessary changes to the treatment plan which may be helpful. Your assistance may be necessary in identifying issues to better enhance the treatment issues. Often times, the addict coming into the program do not recall certain instances, as they have blocked these from their memory, and your assistance is beneficial in the development of their treatment planning.

If you have not gotten to this point yet and your loved one is not in the program, you might ask yourself - Do you recognize the following in someone you love – chances are they need your help whether they ask for it or not. We have Intervention Specialists who can assist you in helping your loved one. Often times the addict will not respond to your assistance, but will blame you or make you feel guilty for offering the help. Family and loved ones are easily manipulated by the addict because they know you and know how to push your buttons. You want to believe in their promises because you know their potential and the goodness in them, so you give them yet another chance. It ends in broken promises. If you recognize the following by answering yes to three or more of the questions, the person you are referring to needs help. Call us today at 1-877-8CEDARS we know we can help you and your loved one now. It is a free call and we are here to assist you.
