You, as a loved one, are struggling too with this addiction. It has had an impact on your personal relationships, your children, your work and yourself. We recognize this and offer a "Family Week" program, while your loved one is in treatment, to help resolve some of the issues that you and this loved one share. Our program is a safe place to resolve many of the symptoms of emotional and physical stress related to addiction, depression, anxiety or trauma. Through our family program, people learn how to reconnect through substance abuse recovery, discover the power of really listening to each other, how to respond rather than react, and learn how to resolve the past through healthy communications.
Not only do we address issues during Family Week, we also assist those at home in obtaining services within their own communities. Setting up those support systems from the beginning, is essential in not only the addicts success of recovery, but the families as well. The Cedars will assist you in obtaining one on one counseling in your area; group meetings with people dealing with the same issues; and joint counseling after your loved one has completed the program and is back home.
Recovery is an ongoing process. It is not something that can be fixed overnight or just because a person completes rehab. It is a change in lifestyle for all concerned and learning to make those changes in a comfortable and committed manner.
Life, free of addiction can be as successful as each individual makes it.
Our Family Week Program welcomes teens and adults affected by addiction. The program provides education on addiction and helps family members identify their resiliency. The program also provides them with the skills and tools necessary in beginning their own healing process. Early on in the program, the therapist will contact you regarding your availability in the Family Week Program and when you could be expected to attend. They will help you in making the necessary arrangements. It is not mandatory that you attend, but is extremely beneficial in having the support systems in place for the resident, as well as your own well being. If you can not attend, other arrangements can be made within your own community to achieve similar goals.
Ask the Intake Counselor more about this program and how you, as a loved one, can begin your own healing process.
