Individual therapy or psychotherapy, allows an individual to examine themselves and get to the core of their addiction and the behaviors associated with it.
Individual therapy, much like psychotherapy uses different approaches and techniques to guide an individual in recognizing and solving problems in life that have become unmanageable. Extensive therapy refers to the number of sessions an individual may need over an extended time period. Based on the severity of the problems and the needs of the individual, extensive individual therapy could mean several sessions a week for as long as the individual may need, as well as entailing continued individual therapy through the aftercare period of treatment. If the individual needs to continue extensive individual therapy, appropriate referrals will be made after being released from the program, with a therapist or counseling agency close to their home. Each individual while in the program, will be assigned to a primary therapist. The amount of time and/or number of sessions per week, will be determined by the therapist and the individual.
